Tom Cruise’s directors chair from the set of Doug Liman’s 2014 alien invasion movie Edge of Tomorrow.
Europe has been invaded by aliens. Cage (Tom Cruise) is a soldier with no combat experience who gets killed shortly after going into battle. Then he wakes up and begins the day again, restarting it every time he dies, allowing him to learn how to defeat the alien enemy.
This is Tom Cruise’s chair from the production. Chairs like these are where actors sit on set between scenes and during set-ups. The chair features Cruise’s name printed on one side of the chair back, and the original title of the film – ‘All You Need Is Kill’ – on the reverse. The film was based on a Japanese book of that name, but it was eventually changed because the filmmakers decided that it did not fit with the tone of film that they were making.
The chair is made of wood with a black fabric seat and chair back, and metal hinges. The chair folds up so it can be carried and stored more easily. The legs have plastic feet on the bottom to provide better balance.
The chair shows some minor wear from use on the production, including a couple of scuffs and scratches, but otherwise remains in an excellent condition.
Materials: Wood, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Ferrous Metals.
