Colonel Radl’s (Robert Duvall) trousers from John Sturges’ 1976 wartime drama The Eagle Has Landed.
Radl wore his trousers as part of his German officer uniform throughout the film as he was tasked to devise Hitler’s plan to kidnap Winston Churchill.
The jodhpur trousers are made from dark grey wool and feature a four button fly, two pockets, buckles at the back to adjust the fit and fourteen lacing eyelets are located at the bottom outer side of each leg. There are no sizes marked, but a ‘Bermans and Nathans’ costumier’s label is sewn inside the waistband. The label reads “Robert Duval [sic], 10821, Eagle Has Landed”.
The trousers display light plucks from production use, and some minor fraying is present around the buttonholes. However, they remain in an overall excellent condition considering their age.
