A number plate from Pete Travis' 2012 sci-fi action film Dredd, an adaptation of 2000AD's cult comic series Judge Dredd.
Set in a futuristic city beset by violence, Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) teams up with a rookie cop to take down dangerous drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Heady) holed up at the top of a tower block full of criminals.
This number plate and others like it were used in the production of the film, most notably in the opening car chase when Dredd hunted down a van of criminals. This plate is not obviously seen on screen.
The plate is acrylic with a printed design stuck to it. It features the number 'LWG-542' and 'MEGA-CITY ONE - SECTOR 019'. At the top left corner is a barcode with the number ‘363-2302' - the sector number appears at the top right. The plate is painted black and grey. Wear from production use includes scratches on both sides, and it has been intentionally distressed to look well used. Despite this, the piece remains in good overall condition.
