DaVinci Code, The

Sir Leigh Teabing (Ian McKellen) Shirt, Tie and Waistcoat

Stock #11448

A shirt, tie and waistcoat worn in the production of the Dan Brown novel adaptation The Da Vinci Code. Following the death of a curator at the Louvre art museum, Harvard lecturer Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) becomes the primary lead in the murder inquiry. A lot more is at work, however, as Langdon is soon dragged into a spiralling conspiracy, all tied to the legends of the Holy Grail.

This style of costume was worn by Sir Leigh Teabing (Ian McKellen) as Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) fly in Teabing's private plane to London. The set is comprised of a brown and blue checked cotton shirt made bespoke for McKellen by London-based shirt maker Russell & Hodge, a blue cashmere knitted waistcoat and a black and green striped tie. The tie features large stitching detail, adding to its distinctive look, while the waistcoat has pockets at the sides.

In very good condition from use on the production, the waistcoat is marked as a size large with no other sizes marked.
