Hand-Drawn City of Zinj Concept Artwork

Stock #116887

A set of concept artwork from the production of Frank Marshall's 1995 sci-fi film, Congo. Loosely based off the Michael Crichton novel, the film follows an expedition into the jungles of the Congo to locate a missing CIA research team. Led by an intelligent gorilla named Amy, the expedition finds more than they bargained for when they reach the Lost City of Zinj.

Hand-drawn by illustrator Jack Johnson, each sketch features a conceptualized layout for the City of Zinj. One piece features a depiction of the city, noting the different areas of the city, such as the clearing, mural room and Zinj wall. The other sketch features concept sketches of the clearing, city and a bird's eye view of the city layout.

Each sketch is hand-drawn on vellum and shows minor signs of wear from production use, but both remain in very good overall condition.
