A set of production artwork used in the creation of special effects for the 1993 action-adventure Cliffhanger. Haunted by the loss of a former team member, mountain rescue ranger Gabe Walker (Sylvester Stallone) returns to the Rocky Mountains one last time. Taken on an emergency rescue mission, he soon finds himself dragged into a daring heist. Can his knowledge of the mountains save him and his fellow rangers?

Acquired from the collection of esteemed visual effects co-ordinator Richard Edlund, this artwork was used for visualising the scenes in which Gabe and his mountain ranger girlfriend Jessie (Janine Turner) try to escape Qualen's (John Lithgow) henchmen before a bomb detonates. The set is comprised of one large composite drawing of Gabe working his way up the tunnels to the surface, a shot of Gabe escaping down the hole after being fired upon by Kynette (Leon) and two shots from the escape by Jessie and Gabe down a cliff face. One of the cliff face images details how the shot was to be achieved, showing a rudimentary camera rig design. All of the artwork is rendered in pencil, with the composite image drawn on tracing paper and the other images drawn on white paper.

Showing some wear from use, with several creases and folds to the composite drawing, these original production drawings remain in overall good production-used. The largest of the artwork measures 82cm x 63cm (32.25" x 24.75").
