A battery pack from Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s 1995 surreal sci-fi film The City of Lost Children.
A scientist kidnaps children to steal their dreams, in an effort to slow the aging process, and a carnival strongman called One (Ron Perlman) sets out to save them.
This battery pack and others like it were made for the production and are worn on the front of the uniforms of the Cyclops, a cult of one-eyed people who steal children for the evil Krank (Daniel Emilfork).
The pack is metal painted brown with an immoveable switch and a paper display. Wiring extends out of both the top and the bottom of the pack and this would previously have been attached to other equipment carried and worn by the Cyclops. It also features a leather string so it could be hung around the neck.
The pack shows wear from production use and age, with several scuffs and scratches. Some of the material around the wiring has frayed, exposing the plastic and metal underneath. It should also be noted that the wiring is just for show and that the item contains no electronic pieces inside. Considering its age it is in good condition.
Materials: Ferrous Metals, Paper, Leather, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
