A satyr full creature costume and mask from Andrew Adamson's 2008 fantasy sequel The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
The satyr, a goat-like creature from Greek mythology, was one of numerous fantastical creatures which inhabited the otherworldly land of Narnia. The satyr's head comprises foam-latex skin covered in grey hand-punched hair, curled resin horns, glass eyes, and a set of teeth. Intentional holes are situated on the satyr's neck to enable visibility for the actor wearing the piece.
The costume consists of a faux-fur bodysuit fitted over a shaped foam muscle suit that encompasses the character's chest, back and arms. A brown leather bandolier is situated on the satyr's right side and is labelled ‘#46’. No legs were made for this particular costume as they were applied digitally during post-production. The tip of the right horn is slightly damaged and minor patches of fur have fallen away over time. The lot is presented on a custom-made stand, preserving the creature's original height, with a light-up base featuring the title artwork.
Materials: Wood, Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Artificial Hair, Artificial Leather, Plastic.
