An animatronic minotaur creature mask made for the production of Andrew Adamson's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Minotaurs are bull-like creatures and are part of the army that assists the children in the film. The mask has been engineered to sit on top of the actor's head, enabling them to see out of the mouth and gives a larger stature to the creatures. The piece is worn with a plastic underskull which has been lined with moleskin for the performer's comfort. The face is produced from foam latex and is painted with detail and is finished with hand-punched hair. A large nose ring is attached to the nostrils of the beast. The long horns are cast in urethane and two acrylic eyes and a set of acrylic teeth give additional realism to the mask.
Internally, the mask features electric components to move the face. These components have not been tested. The piece is presented on a biscuit foam lifecast of an unidentified person.
This piece shows some signs of wear from storage, such as marking to the paint on the mouth, but remains in overall good condition.
