A miniature fertiliser sack used in the Aardman Animation film Chicken Run. These tiny sacks would have been used on various sets in the film that follows the personable chickens and their plight for freedom. Made from woven cotton, the miniature piece is filled with what feels like sand then sewn up by hand. It features some faded printing for “British Fertiliser” and is in a production distressed condition to make it blend into the mucky farmyard set, with some evidence of being stuck down using glue to make sure everything stayed in exactly the right place during the painstaking task of filming the stop motion feature. The sack measures approximately 10cm (4") tall and 7cm (2.75") wide. An excellent little piece from this classic Aardman movie.
