Motorcycle body armour from McG’s 2003 action-comedy sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
The Angels – Natalie (Cameron Diaz), Dylan (Drew Barrymore) and Alex (Lucy Liu) – must investigate a series of murders after the theft of a witness protection database.
This set of Thor Aftershock® body armour was used on the production for the sequence at the Coal Bowl, a motocross race that the Angels must enter to protect a witness who is being targeted. Although not obviously seen on screen it would have been worn by one of the stunt drivers playing the different competitors.
The armour is designed to protect the rider’s chest, back and shoulders in the event of an accident. Made of hardened plastic with additional padding in the shoulders, chest and back. There is also a section designed to protect the bicep, but the one on the right is no longer part of the costume.
The only label indicating size suggests that it would fit riders above 100lbs/45kg. It has some minor wear from production use, including scuffing and scratches, as well as the missing bicep protection, but it remains in an otherwise very good condition.
Materials: Plastic, Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Foam.
