A Nutty Crunch Surprise chocolate wrapper from Tim Burton’s 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) is a fond lover of chocolate. When Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) opens up his factory to five lucky Golden Ticket winners, Charlie is one of the lucky winners, and enters the mysterious factory to discover its many hidden wonders.
Nutty Crunch Surprise chocolate bars were used in multiple scenes, most notably in the opening sequence where Willy Wonka’s production machines are putting wrappers on chocolate bars and hiding Golden Tickets in some of them. The bar focused on in the close-up climax of this sequence is the Nutty Crunch Surprise. Nutty Crunch Surprise bars were also used in the newsagent scene where Charlie found his Golden Ticket – they were partially obscured by other Wonka bars.Made from glossy paper, the red and brown wrapper displays the famous Wonka logo and the title ‘Nutty Crunch Surprise’. A golden star with the words ‘Win a trip to Wonka’s Chocolate Factory’ is displayed at the top left. The reverse shows detailed information including ingredients, nutritional values and a barcode.
Displaying some light marks and folds from production use, the wrapper remains in very good overall condition.
