A panther statue maquette from the 1982 erotic horror film Cat People. In the film, a young woman reunited with her estranged brother who enlightens her on their werecat heritage. Similar panther statues can be seen at the zoo Irena (Nastassja Kinski) works at.
Made for the production of the film, the statue is made of plaster, painted grey and displays a panther poised atop a rock formation. The statue also features wiring and a 12 volt power supply, which can illuminate one of the panther's eyes. The statue shows some signs of wear from production and age, but it remains in good overall condition.
