An air brake from the “Tumbler” used in the production of the first of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, Batman Begins. After losing his parents in a tragic armed robbery, young billionaire Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) turns to a life of vigilantism and becomes the saviour of Gotham City, Batman.
This air brake was used on the side of Batman’s trademark vehicle, the “Tumbler”, with identical air breaks fitted on either side. Made of sheet metal around an internal frame and given a distinctive matt black paint finish. The air brake still retains its original mounting nuts and has both of the hydraulic mounts still fitted in place. Obvious signs of production wear include paint flaking along the edges and mounting positions as well as the leading edge of the brake pulled away from the main body, the result of forceful contact during filming the film’s exciting vehicular chase scenes.

Well used on the production, the air brake has suffered some production damage but remains in an overall good production-used condition, with minimal additional wear from time spent in storage.
