A lightweight US helmet from the production of the historical TV mini-series Band Of Brothers, produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
Based on the book by Stephen E. Ambrose, the series shows the wartime lives of the 101st Airborne Division’s ‘Easy’ Company. It follows them from their training at Camp Currahee through to the end of the war.
This style of helmet, and others like it, were made for the production to be worn by members of 101st Airborne Division’s “Easy” Company throughout the series. Finished in a dark khaki shade, the helmet is made from fibreglass and was likely used for stunt sequences. There are no rank markings on the exterior, and the chin strap is missing. Pieces of foam are adhered to the interior, providing comfort for the wearer and the inside is labelled "F" for front.
The helmet exhibits signs of wear from production use, including some paint loss revealing a dark green undercoat, scuffing and there is minor damage around the rim. However, it remains in an overall very good condition.
Materials: Fibreglass, Foam.
