A metal Templar dagger and sheath from Justin Kurzel’s 2016 video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed.
Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is submitted to an experiment involving the Animus - a machine that has been developed to relive genetic memories - and discovers he is a descendant of the mysterious Assassins. Experiencing the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, he helps the Assassins take on the tyrannical Templars and search for the ‘Apple of Eden’.
This dagger and others like it were made for the film and were worn on the belts of Templar soldiers. They can also be seen the modern day, in one of the weapons rooms.
The dagger is made of intentionally distressed and tarnished metal with a grip made from hardened rubber and leather. The sheath is leather and tied together with black string. The piece shows some wear from production use, such as where the string around the grip has started to come away and the screw holding the hilt in place has become exposed. Despite this the piece remains in a good, production-used condition.
Materials: Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Leather, Rubber.
