Aguilar's (Michael Fassbender) stunt executioner dagger from Justin Kurzel’s 2016 video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed.
Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is submitted to an experiment involving the Animus - a machine that has been developed to relive genetic memories - and discovers he is a descendant of the mysterious Assassins. Experiencing the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, he helps the Assassins take on the tyrannical Templars and search for the ‘Apple of Eden’.
This dagger was made for the production and one appears in the scene when Aguilar, Maria (Ariane Labed) and Benedicto (Carlos Bardem) are tied to stakes and about to be executed. The executioner plunges his dagger into the wood that Aguilar is standing on. Aguilar then uses it to undo the shackles around his ankles and escape.
The rubber stunt dagger features an elaborate sculpted grip with a guard covered in decorative leaf detailing. Leather binding is wrapped around the grip. Finished in metallic faux-gold paint with metallic steel tones for the blade, the dagger's grips are distressed to look hard-worn, with some minor wear to the guard and blade.
The piece shows some minor wear from production use and storage. The tip of the knife has become slightly bent, but overall the piece remains in an excellent condition.
Materials: Rubber, Leather.
