An Abstergo display wrist blade made for the production of Justin Kurzel’s 2016 adventure film Assassin’s Creed.
When Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is submitted to an experiment involving the Animus, a machine that has been developed to relive genetic memories, he soon discovers he is a descendant of the mysterious society, the Assassins. Experiencing the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, he joins the Assassins to take on the tyrannical Templars and search for the Apple of Eden.
Multiple styles of wrist blades were displayed in cabinets within the Animus hall, notably seen in the background when Nathan (Callum Turner) smashed a cabinet to gather weapons to battle the Abstergo facility's guards. Hidden wrist blades were the signature weapon used by members within the Assassin Brotherhood.
The wristblade and its housing are made from a combination of metal and plastic, all finished in varying shades of dark steel grey paint. Ornate resin detailing decorates the front of the housing and has been finished to replicate the appearance of worked ivory. A brown suede wrist strap is attached and additional distressing, including a ‘broken’ blade, has been applied giving the weapon a worn appearance.
The weapon displays minor additional wear, such as resin pieces becoming partially unattached on the front. However, the wrist blade remains in very good condition.
Materials: Metal, Plastic, Resin.
