American, The

Exploded Stunt Rifle

Stock #22919

"All the sheep in my flock are dear to me. But some are dear the most. Especially those that have lost their way."

An 'exploded' stunt rubber rifle used in Anton Corbijn’s 2010 assassin movie The American.

Whilst hiding out in Italy after a botched job, Jack (George Clooney) is contacted for one final assignment; to create a gun with the firing capacity of a machine gun but the deadly accuracy of a sniper rifle.

A stunt rifle like this one featured in the climax of the film when the assassin Mathilde (Thekla Reuten) tried to kill Jack with the weapon - but it had been sabotaged and exploded, fatally injuring her.

Made from hard rubber, the piece has a solid internal armature for stability. It is very similar the hero rifle complete with sight and stock, with the simple addition of a chamber made of ripped and torn metal where it 'exploded' -this features quite sharp edges and should be handled with care.

The rifle remains in good overall condition, with evidence of production use and the obvious intentional damage to the chamber section.

Materials: Ferrous Metals, Rubber.
