Alien

Special Effects Budget Paperwork

Stock #58973

“I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.”

A set of production budget paperwork from Ridley Scott's 1979 horror classic, Alien. In the film, the crew of the Nostromo, a deep space mining vessel, investigate a distress signal from a distant planet where they encounter an unidentified space ship.

This set is comprised of a calendar showing the filming schedule, a printed copy of a special effects crew list and eight expense lists for the film’s special effects. Dated ‘January-December 1978’, the calendar features written numbers in red showing the various weeks of filming through to the wrap on October 7th.

The printed crew list copy features crew member names and their roles in the special effects department. The multiple lists are handwritten in different coloured marker pens and focus on costings for the special effects department - from the construction of miniatures to the creation of practical effects on-set.

Some of the lists have approximate and revised costs broken down into sections for various sets and props used to create the effects.

This paperwork features minor wear from age, including some markings and a slight fold to the page corners. However, the set remains in very good condition for its age.

Materials: Paper.
