A Macedonian soldier chest plate from Oliver Stone’s 2004 biopic drama Alexander.
Many of the soldiers forming part of the great leader’s vast army can be seen wearing this style of costume throughout the movie, from the battle in Guargemela to India and beyond.
Made from plastic, the chest plate features an embossed Medusa head in the centre and moulded abdominal muscles underneath. The armour is finished in bronze coloured paint with white shades applied around the Medusa emblem to produce a weathered effect. There are metal loops present on the shoulders and two brown leather straps feature on each side. The interior displays various markings in black marker, and a small label reading “Alan Dixon”.
The chest plate displays signs of scuffing and paint wear from production use. However, in spite of this wear, it remains in an overall excellent condition.
Materials: Plastic, Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
