Marcus Payne's (David Oyelowo) helmet from Peter Hyams’ 2005 action sc-fi A Sound of Thunder.
A scientist sent back to the prehistoric era strays off the path and sets off a chain of events that alters history in drastic and disastrous ways.
Payne wore his helmet when he went back in time with the group. It is made of plastic and acrylic and painted with a green camouflage pattern. The clear visor is attached to a hinge and slides backwards, opening the front. There is a black chinstrap and the inside has padding for the actor’s comfort. ‘PAYNE’ is printed on the back in white. A faux laser sits on the side of the helmet and black pipes come out of the back which would have been attached to the ‘air tanks’.
There is some minor wear from production use and age, including an area on the visor which has cracked, separating it from the hinge on that side. Overall it remains in an excellent production-used condition.
Materials: Ferrous Metals, Man-Made Woven Fibres, Acrylic, Plastic.
