Aramis (Jeremy Irons) Fighting Sword
Stock # 9938
“Is that just because you are holier than everybody else?” “Well, there is that, but also because I'm more intelligent than everybody else.”
Aramis’ (Jeremy Irons) fighting sword from Randall Wallace’s 1998 action drama film The Man in the Iron Mask.
The cruel King Louis XIV of France carries out actions which force four men to plot a coup in which they will replace the King with the mysterious Man in the Iron Mask. Can the man be a suitable substituted for the real king?
Aramis wields his sword in the second act of the film when he must fight along side the other musketeers to save Phillippe (Leonardo DiCaprio). The sword is metal with a wooden handle covered in a layer of fabric. The hand guard and basket have been ornately crafted with a design unique to Aramis’ character. The sword shows significant wear from production use including scratches and dents all along the blade from stage fights. The sword has suffered from ageing with the handle showing rust throughout, the metal on the basket has been eaten away by it on one section and the fabric on the handle has peeled away slightly revealing the wood beneath. Considering the age of the piece and the rigorous use from production, the sword remains in an otherwise very good condition.
Materials: Ferrous Metals, Wood, Man-Made Woven Fibres.
