A ‘The Duke of Death’ magazine cover and back made for the production of Clint Eastwood’s Academy Award-winning western Unforgiven. An aging former outlaw returns to his former way of life for a final job. In the film, biographer W.W. Beauchamp (Saul Rubinek) writes and publishes stories about gunslingers in the west. This cover was printed by production and Little Bill Daggett (Gene Hackman) is seen reading a copy of a publication in the film as he confronts W.W. about the liberties he took while writing the story. The cover is printed on thick paper and features the image of an heroic English Bob (Richard Harris) standing over the slain bodies of other men and protecting a damsel. The back side of the cover contains printed faux advertisements for old-west businesses. This piece shows minimal signs of wear from production use and storage and remains in overall great condition.
